Instead, it embraces a menu that reflects the true essence of local flavors, making it a favorite among both residents and discerning travelers.
As you step into this delightful establishment, the warm ambiance welcomes you, supported by the personable service of the owner who connects with guests on a personal level. The sense of community here is palpable, as many patrons are familiar faces, making it feel like a home away from home. One must-try highlight is the scrambled eggs with truffles, as praised by a satisfied diner. It showcases the restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients, particularly the coveted Umbrian truffles. Paired with an excellent selection of locally sourced wines, many in the affordable low €20 range, your meal becomes a celebration of flavors. The maialino (suckling pig) stands out as a favorite among patrons, delivering a spectacular taste experience enhanced by generous truffle slices.
Ristorante Locanda Do Pazzi also embraces a wider culinary scope, offering dishes like pesto alla trapanese and gazpacho. This versatility wins the hearts of those seeking more than just traditional Umbrian fare, which has been particularly appreciated by vegetarian guests. The portions may be modest, but each bite is crafted with care, ensuring every meal feels special.
The reviews speak volumes of the restaurant's appeal, with customers lauding the exceptional food and the attentive yet relaxed pace of service. We had a small but delicious lunch here. Scrambled eggs with truffles to start and then delicious pasta as a primo. I am sure we will come back for dinner soon.

Thoroughly recommended - a quirky local restaurant serving mainly local people. Yes, the menu is only in Italian (the owner doesn’t speak English) and it’s not the usual pizza/pasta stuff but a bit of work with a guidebook will give you a clue as to what you’re eating. The portions are not large - but there’s a good choice of pasta and antipasti. We thought prices were good and the food excellent. I had the maialino (pork) with truffle slices which was spectacular! The wine list is short with a lot of local wines and well priced, with a lot of choice in the low €20s. Service was by the owner, I think, who seemed to know everyone, so service can be a bit slow, but friendly. We loved it and if you want something authentically Italian, give it a try.

Exceptional food in this small and slightly out of the way restaurant. We received friendly and attentive service. The menu is varied and is some of the best food we had in Perugia.

We loved this restaurant – menu not limited to standard/Umbrian fare, but ranges wider (eg to pesto alla trapanese, gazpacho etc). Excellent cooking, warm hospitality, and unbelievably well-priced wine list (even by Italian standards). Very, very good selection of vegetarian dishes. Sure, it is a restaurant primarily for locals, not tourists – the evening we went the owner seemed to know almost every other diner personally – but as the only tourists we were treated far better, with more genuine warmth, than in slicker tourist-focused places. Looking forward to going back the next time we are in Perugia.

This food is amazing! Umbrian truffles, good portions, and notes of Venetian tradition, too. The maialino was incredible. And the house wine Níspero I loved. Higher prices than other Perugian restaurants but worth it.
